Trick or Treat? Definitely treat your teeth!

Updated: Feb 19, 2021

Halloween is on it's way which means lots of sugary treats! It's important to have fun and make the most of occasions but make sure your teeth are prepared for the 31st October!

A large amount of sugar or acidic food and drinks in our diets could result in cavities forming on our teeth or enlarging them if we aren't protecting our teeth and gums properly. Make sure to stick to your dental routine, cleaning twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash and don't forget your flossing! Good oral hygiene maintenance will help remove plaque and protect the teeth and gums. A build up of plaque can produce acid which attacks the tooth. Cleaning and flossing your teeth is so important to help minimise the amount of acid attacking the tooth, so the products and techniques you use can help to protect your teeth. This will help prevent tooth decay, cavities and prevent the need for future dental treatment - maintaining healthy teeth and gums.

Sodium fluoride is an ingredient which has been proven to help protect your teeth from acids in our everyday food and drinks, so check your dental products and ensure this ingredient is included.
